Just to confirm....
starting rosters requires 3 of each forward position, 6 defense, and 2 goalies???
adding to 17 and we have 6 pro level 'spares'
and then we can have up to 6 additional 'farm' players, each who must have played less than 100 nhl games, when they reach the 100 game plateau, they must be moved to the pro roster or waived, correct?
to determine positions we use the 'wonderfully slowly updated' yahoo standards? not other online listings?
i think that's it
thanks, looking forward to the season.....and if anyone is already seeing a need to upgrade there d....i've got some that can be moved
later

oh....forgot to ask,
rosters can be updated daily, right?.....is there a games played limit ie. can't just 'dress' players that are playing on any given night, or we risk wasting the 82 games played per roster spot???
ok i think that's it.....thanks for baring with me....all my experience is in points only leagues up to this point

Yep everything stated above is correct, and there is no games played limit in Head-yo-Head.

The 6 spares can be any position, up to a max of 4 goalies.
And if I could adjust the listings on yahoo, I would, but we can't.

Why don't we make it 3 sites in total and as long as it is listed on 1 of 3 sites it's a go.
I am sure it would benefit some and not others but at least it keeps it level.
Just my 2 cents.

For Example:
Take Zetterberg.
Lets say: TSN he is Listed as C/LW Sportsnet he is listed as C Yahoo he is listed as LW
If I want to use Zetterberg as a Centre I can't because Yahoo doesn't have him listed as Centre but TSN and Sportsnet do. If TSN and/or Sportsnet were one of the sites that we could use than I would be able to put Zetterberg as a Centre.
Does that make sense?

Ok I see what your saying, but the only problem with that is, I cant change the positions that yahoo sets. Zetteberg in yahoo is C/LW, all the positions are different/multiple than it says in the yahoo player profile. Most players like this have mutli- positions which isnt a problem. The only problem with yahoo is switching young centerman to wing positions when the change, eg: Gagner last year. He played Center, kinda, but played alot on the wing. Yahoo didnt add multiple position for him, so he was a C getting minimal faceoff wins.

Ok I also understand. I never used Yahoo pools before so I didn't know that's how it works.

No it's not too bad, it seems like there is always a few players that arent updated as soon as everyone wants, but Ive been using yahoo for a few years, with this same format and never had any problems. They usually over-do the multi postions, compared to getting positions for players wrong.
